If you’re looking for obscure, but good, I really liked Ai Yori Aoshi and Happy Lesson. Nothing too remarkable about them, but they were still good. Oh, and one of my top recommendations on the off chance you haven’t seen it already, The World God Only Knows is the purest example of harem I’ve seen. It boasts a very different take on the genre, in that the hero is FORCED to make all these girls fall in love with him. Basically, The God of Video Games teaches you how to save the world by bagging chicks using the power of TROPES.

“When you consider that BRS is geared towards teenage males and isn’t what would be considered an emotional or thought-provoking franchise” okay okay, have the reviewers of forever geek seen the OVA!? Most of the stuff in it is cryptic/though provoking, and the entire plot is based on a friendship(almost yuri provoking) between two girls. only a 1/3 of the OVA is actually action, if you aren’t paying attention… then you are asking wtf is going on why in the heck is black rock even here?
then your like oooooh its because its in their minds, its dumb… because there is no real reason or explanation for that to be happening.
it would have been so good if it would be like. oh!! she transforms into black rock, and zones out/drifts into her mind to fight death master,or at least something like that.
MY opinion, it better not be some exact reproduction of the OVA and not explain anything. I would be sooooooo pissed.
urrrrrgh.
Thanks for the review, Darren! I hope you’ll stick around for the next issue.
None of them are very hot at all.
This is how I describe Lucky Star: Like Anime Seinfeld with schoolgirls instead of Noo Yawkers.
